Master of Education

In September 2008 we will start with a Master of Education programme that will concentrate on Awareness, Whole Person development, Discontinuous Learning, Counseling Education, Guidance Counseling, Educational Enrichment and Adult Education. This programme will be based on our Living Systems Organization & Communication approach. This puts special emphasis on Systems-, Process philosophy and Holism. In preparation for this programme we presently offer a continuing education programme called Whole Teacher - Whole Learner - Whole Community. In our programmes students will develop: Awareness of the Whole Person that supports one’s choices, from personal to professional, A reflective attitude that nurtures personal growth in individual, clinical, educational and corporate contexts, The mastery of a field of study as the basis for life-long learning, service, relationships and work in a socially and culturally diverse context, A foundation of knowledge, skills and dispositions that are required for critical thinking and problem solving, The ability to empower oneself and others, A healthy understanding of Self and others that is reflected in: Mature independent relationships and mutual accountability, Personal integrity that fosters the ability to resolve conflict and to promote justice. A commitment to diversity in all of its forms both conceptually and in practice, An intercultural openness with the ability to function with people of other (world)views. In this Master’s programme the student is stimulated to gather evidence through enquiry, diagnostic observation and other such means, based on holism, transdisciplinarity, and the reciprocal, participatory relationship with the subject of study and research. Based on a student's field, previous knowledge, skills and (work) experience s/he is stimulated to design his/her own curriculum with the guidance of a mentor. We encourage students to learn and grow beyond the parameters of their skills-based training and recognize the powerful connection between the skills and the education of mind, body and spirit.
